Monday was a great day. Made top ten for Shore 104’s Sounds of Summer songwriter contest. I’m super excited and honored to be accepted into the top ten!

So the day after I found out I was invited into the station to have a business seminar with Dave Chesney. Dave Chesney has worked most of his life in the music industry from working in radio, major labels, to artist management. He’s a super great guy and defiantly has tons of great and inspiring information for all of us. All the top ten artists are invited out to chat with Dave every Tuesday for the whole month of July. Super awesome.

I’ve officially  decided I love B.C. for it’s music. We are getting a chance of a life time out here with all these great contest programs to help artists. Apparently, back when major labels had tons and tons of cash they would develop the talent and move it forward to sell tons of records. Now it seems that B.C. radio is what’s saving music in a big way. I’m really excited to see what huge acts are going to be pop out of B.C. in the near future.

I’ll be posting some new SUMMER DATES tomorrow! So stay tuned.

It’s been a really busy month of June. I’ve got the all the tracking done for the new EP and it’s sounding amazing!

Starting off recording the EP, the most important thing to me and my Producer Todd Simko was to keep that magic alive in the songs. We didn’t want to loose the rough edges and little characteristics of the songs. We always said, “we were trying to capture moments in the performance, more so then just recording the songs to perfection”.

We recorded three out of the six tracks live off the floor in Todd’s home and we just waited for those magical takes to reveal themselves. Once we decided the takes had something special to them we started to add other instruments to complement the rest of the sound.

I was really excited to have Adeline come in to sing on a track for the EP. She has the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard! You must check her out http://www.myspace.com/adalinesmusic

I’m planning to book a long tour across Canada for the fall to release the EP. The CD release show will be announced soonish!

bringing your toy guitar for show & Tell. I heard your name mentioned on
Shore 104 as one of the Summer picks and I had to check out your music. You
have a great voice and love your guitar accompaniment to your songs.

I am old fashioned and still don’t have an IPod so I can’t download your
music. Let me know when you have a CD recorded and I’ll buy one for sure.

It’s so wonderful to hear how those young 3 & 4year olds are doing as
adults. I’m happy to hear you are doing something you love and are
successful at it too.

That’s how I felt with my preschool.

It’s been a little while, but I am finally brushing the dust off the guitar, and playing a few shows this month!

I am going to be playing at the Gallary Gachet in Vancouver on Tuesday June 15th, which will be airing live on CJSF 90.1 FM! Entry is by donation, and is ALL AGES! The radio show begins at 7pm, and I should be interviewed and will be performing between 8pm and 10pm! Check out details on the Gallery Gachet website, or on my Facebook fanpage!

I am also going to be playing for a fundraiser where all proceeds go to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, at Darby’s Pub in Kitsilano! $5 entry at the door, which is going towards a great cause!

It’s been a busy May, and I am happy to say the record is almost finished tracking. Today I had Adaline in the studio to do some vocals for a track for the new release. This track turned out so well I think it’s going to be the title track of the EP!

I also just shot a music video for another track off my EP featuring We are the City, Adrian Glynn and Henry from Henry and the Night Crawlers. It’s a western themed video with lots of action. I can’t wait to have it’s first showing at the CD release. Keep you fingers crossed and hopefully we’ll be seeing it before then on Much More Music.
